Action Rebuilding

At some point in an action’s life more has to be done to it than filing hammers and regulating the action.

Parts become brittle. Sometimes actions become stiff and sluggish. Surfaces become hard and noisy. The cloth and felt in the keys and action have worn out or eaten by moths. Action flanges become loose and parts wobble. Key tops are worn and are coming loose.

Often the wear has reached the point where hammers and action parts have to be replaced in order to restore good touch and tone.
